Young Gloucestershire entrepreneur isn’t letting lockdown get her down…

Omorfia

A young Wotton-Under-Edge entrepreneur has continued to grow her beauty business despite the pandemic, harnessing the power of YouTube to help her through the lockdowns.

Grace Guest-Ford founded Omorfia Beauty & Aesthetics in August 2019.

She said: “I have always had a passion for beauty and aesthetics as it allows me to transform the way people feel about themselves and encourage everyone to invest some more time into self-care which improves self-confidence.”

Grace offers a range of treatments, from microblading (one of her most popular treatments), to eyebrow and eyelash, nail and non surgical bottom and tummy tucks and cellulite busting treatments.

But faced with three national lockdowns, which forced her to temporarily close the business, as all other beauty salons had to do, made her even more determined to succeed.

“In a bid to keep my businesses going and continue to grow, last year I launched a YouTube channel – Omorfia by Grace – where I occasionally film makeup tutorials upon request from my clients. I found this gave me another way to engage with clients despite being closed.”

When the latest lockdown hit the beauty industry, Grace decided to create made-to-order ‘Ultimate Self-Care Pamper Packages’ and ‘Press On Nail Kits.’

“Every single day my goal is to inspire, empower and encourage women to take some time out to relax and to invest in self-care. I also spend lots of my time using my social media platforms to engage and connect with my followers/clients, I am always trying to spread love, positivity and self-care vibes.”

Her efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. She was recently named a finalist in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2021 for Best New Salon and Spotlight Salon of the Year. The awards recognise the achievements of businesses in the hair and beauty industry.

Grace said: “I have always wanted my own business. I grew up around very hard-working people, and the pandemic has just made me more ambitious than ever.  My advice to other business owners is not to be afraid of taking “a leap”. Whenever you’re wanting to do something big you’re going to feel fear. Get through that fear and trust your instincts. If you’re passionate you will make it. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
