A Worcestershire business has recorded the best two-month sales period in its history.

5 Star Windows and Conservatories has secured retail and trade orders worth nearly £2.5 million in February and March, a figure that is 125 per cent higher than last year and 53 per cent up on 2019.

As a result, the company, which operates from a showroom in Carden Street and a further one in Kidderminster, has created 20 new jobs with new designers, operations and customer service experts added to the 100-strong team.

Management at the firm believe a combination of new products, marketing campaigns during the pandemic and the use of technology to provide the best customer experience have been fundamental in supporting the growth.

The milestone achievements come at a perfect time, with 5 Star celebrating 10 years as a member of the Conservatory Outlet network of retailers, which design and build living spaces and install windows and doors.

Richard Manser, 5 Star’s Managing Director, said: “Covid-19 has meant that people have been unable to go out or book holidays so we have seen massive pent-up demand to start projects in the home. This has helped drive unprecedented interest in our products.”

5 Star Windows and Conservatories has installed more than 30,000 windows and completed more than 3,000 conservatories, orangeries and extensions during the last two decades.

The company also has ambitious plans for further expansion in 2021 as it looks extend the success enjoyed over the last 12 months.

This includes the opening of a new Birmingham showroom in Hall Green, where 5 Star plans to make a significant investment, including in a 3D design studio for customers to see before they buy.

Richard added: “Conservatory Outlet has been really supportive over the last decade and especially so during the last twelve months as we’ve all battled through the pandemic.”

Greg Kane, Chief Executive of Conservatory Outlet, concluded: “5 Star is a fantastic example of a business that has met the challenges of Covid-19 head-on and recorded some fantastic results despite all of the pressures.

“That’s the way Richard and the team have built the business and we’re delighted to see the progress they are making with record sales, the additional showroom in Birmingham, a newly enhanced trade counter and a sales and training academy at its Kidderminster HQ.”
