A WORCESTER-based monthly marketing club run by communications consultancy Chris Green Media has chosen the city’s foodbank as its charity for 2019.
The Business Media Club, which celebrated its fifth anniversary in September, will be backing Worcester Foodbank through collections and visitor donations.
CGM managing partner and club founder Chris Green said: “The foodbank is a cause close to our hearts and we’ve held numerous collections at club meetings and social events in recent years.
“Whenever we’ve dropped off items at its HQ in Lowesmoor we’ve been moved by the dedication of the volunteers, who are braced for a busy 2019.”
Mr Green added that CGM will also be encouraging surrounding businesses on Blackpole’s industrial estates to contribute to the collection.
Grahame Lucas, Worcester Foodbank manager, said: “CGM has already shown great support for our foodbank and we’re delighted that the club has chosen us to be its charity of the year.
“It comes at a crucial time for us as we try to feed a record number of individuals and families that are being pushed into crisis due to low income and the problems caused by Universal Credit. We hope the club and local businesses will help us rise to the challenge.”
The next meeting of the Business Media Club, which combines media and marketing training, personal development and quality networking, will be held at CGM Media Centre, Blackpole East, on Friday, February 22 from 9.45am to 12.30pm. The meeting theme is ways to win new business via lead acquisition marketing and conversion rate optimisation.
