Worcester company offers answer to new contact tracing law

RotaHub TextTBar

From Friday 18 September, licensed premises and venues across the UK are required by law to record contact details of customers, visitors and staff. With many venues still using pen and paper to keep records, but a Worcester-based company has a better answer.

RotaHub, which says it is the UK’s first total workforce management company, has developed TexTbar which enables users to text their details to a venue-exclusive number. Their name, date of entry, time and telephone number are securely collated and filed with NHS Test and Trace, if requested. The venue also has a live dashboard which displays the first name of the guest to confirm that their details have been securely recorded.

RotaHub Shaun HarrisSean Harris, RotaHub’s Operations Director, said: “Venue owners can be fined for non-compliance with this new law so it’s important that the data is recorded correctly.

“TexTbar can be used on any device and is completely GDPR compliant. 80 per cent of customers can text for free as part of their contracts, all they have to do is text when they enter and when they leave. This frees up staff time so they have more capacity to serve customers and ensure the venue is COVID-secure. It’s crucial that we all work together to try and stop the onward spread of the virus.”

RotaHub specialises in digital solutions which enable companies to use their own equipment and resources to improve their efficiency. The company recently won the SME News UK Enterprise Awards ‘Most Innovative Digital Workforce Management Solutions’ award for two of its most popular digital products.
