Warwickshire company to represent UK net-zero automotive innovation on global platform

Eatron Technologies

Warwick-based company Eatron Technologies has been selected by the Coventry-based Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) to showcase its next-generation low carbon technologies as part of the UK Pavilion at a major Japanese event.

The annual spring exposition held by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan will take place virtually on 26-28 May 2021, and Eatron Technologies, developer of intelligent battery management and autonomous driving software solutions, has been chosen from a selection of leading UK innovators to take part.

The development of new powertrain technologies is integral to the UK’s green industrial revolution and economic recovery post-COVID-19. APC is at the heart of the UK’s strategy, providing support and funding for the research, development and industrialisation of technologies that aim to accelerate the realisation of net zero-emission vehicles.

JSAE is a world-leading automotive engineering event, drawing hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands of attendees to Japan in previous years. The UK Pavilion showcases the best of UK net-zero technology, managed by the APC in partnership with Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Department for International Trade, SMMT and Innovate UK. In light of travel restrictions, the 2021 event was moved online to facilitate access to the global automotive community.

Dr Umut Genc, Managing Director at Eatron Technologies, said: “We’re excited to be representing the best of British automotive innovation on the UK Pavilion. JSAE is a significant opportunity to showcase our pioneering technology, and ultimately attract international interest and investment into the UK automotive supply chain.

“Eatron offers artificial intelligence-based software for electric and autonomous vehicles that satisfies automotive safety and verifiability standards. Our battery management system (BMS) optimises battery performance and life, and our advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) platform enables safe automated manoeuvres such as lane changes.”

Philippa Oldham, Stakeholder Engagement Director at APC, said: “JSAE 2021 offers a major opportunity to underscore and secure the UK automotive industry’s significant position in the global net-zero emissions supply chain. We look forward to championing Eatron’s technology as an impressive example of the innovation emerging from companies across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.”
