Vodafone partners with Huawei rival to bring new smartphones to Europe

Newbury-headquartered global mobile phone company Vodafone has agreed a partnership with Chinese smartphone brand Oppo, a leading global smart device brand.

The agreement, which kicks off immediately, will bring a broad range of OPPO’s smartphones to Vodafone’s European markets

Oppo, a competitor of Huawei, will make its products available across Vodafone’s retail and online channels.

Vodafone will introduce Oppo products across its retail channels in the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Turkey and the Netherlands. The two companies will jointly develop their global partnership, working together to expand the future availability of the OPPO range across Vodafone’s markets

Oppo predominantly manufactures its products in-house and most of its manufacturing facilities have resumed normal operation. While physical retail is currently constrained, both companies are planning online sales channels.

Earlier this month Vodafone reported revenue growth of  3 per cent to €45.0 billion, supported by improving commercial momentum in Europe.
