Worcestershire entrepreneurs are preparing for the launch of the ‘The Connection Project’, a distinctive and unique networking initiative for members of the community to connect.

Organised by WINN, a Worcestershire County Council (WCC) and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) programme, The Connection Project is targeting Worcestershire’s growing innovative business community, offering individuals a creative opportunity to network and form new connections.

This year, members of the community are invited to get involved in the project by submitting their own ‘connection card’ via the Innovation Platform, a 24-7 networking hub that brings together business focussed opportunities and programmes and its community of users to share ideas, solve problems and discuss their business challenges and ideas with other innovators.

Acting as a directory of motivational quotes and conversation kick starters, the ‘connection cards’ encourages the Worcestershire business community to connect in a virtual way.

Jess Antley, Senior Project Manager at WINN, said: “As an organisation that used to host regular networking events, we have noticed many members of our community longing for a sense of reconnection and collaboration again which is how and why The Connection Project came about.

“The Connection Project is one of our latest areas on the Innovation Platform that allows people to ask business related questions while sharing fun facts about themselves and connecting with members of our community in a unique way.

“At WINN, we strongly believe that great things happen when people get together which is why we are so pleased to be launching this exciting new project. Our Innovation Platform not only brings hundreds of individuals together but presents the opportunity to connect, collaborate and to simply be inspired all in one place.”

During September, the project took to the Cathedral Square on Worcester High Street in order to showcase the importance of making connections with a visual installation designed by the talented local artist, Rob Draper, who helped bring the project to life.

WINN brings innovators together, acting as a catalyst to create connections and collaborations across the diverse business landscape of Worcestershire.
