A Stroud-based video production company won the backing of top retail magnate Theo Paphitis in February, after scooping an award for Business of the Week.
The Dragons’ Den star singled out Dashing Bear Productions as one of six weekly winners. Dashing Bear Productions tweeted Theo with the #SBS during ‘Small Business Sunday’ about how they help other businesses grow through helping them with high-quality video.
Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo re‐tweeted Dashing Bear Productions’ message to his almost half-million followers on Twitter and are now also profiled on the #SBS website that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.
As well as a retweet to this huge audience of small business owners in the UK, the victory was marked by a ceremony (SBSEvent2020) attended by 900 businesses at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham in February), with engaging presentations designed for the Small Business community from LinkedIn, MIND, Google, and Natwest, as well as a fireside chat between Theo and fellow dragon Sara Davies.
“I am over the moon at this win, I feel really proud and privileged,” says Dashing Bear founder Dave Ashdown, collecting the award. “All small businesses need recognition to thrive, and this is a huge boost for the company at a pivotal moment of growth.”
The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010 to shine a spotlight on the work that small businesses do every day around the UK, now has over 3000 #SBS winners from over 400,000 applications. “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK,” adds Paphitis. “I wish Dashing Bear Productions every success.”
