Triple letting takes Harwell Campus Development to Fully Let

Harwell Campus

Harwell Campus Partnership Ltd has signed leases with aerospace company Lockheed Martin, gym providers Fitness Experts and Pierrepoints, an artisan café, totalling 7,300 sq ft.  This completion of lettings improves the Campus’ amenity offer and takes Harwell Campus’ 165,000 sq ft of development and refurbishment to fully let, making it the largest combined commercial take-up and development of new space ever in Oxfordshire.

The lettings coincide with practical completion (PC) of the Grade A award winning Quad One (43,000 sq ft) and the Zephyr science warehouse (60,000 sq ft). The completion of Zephyr sees Oxford Space Systems, a UK Space company pioneering the latest in advanced materials and their application to space hardware, move into their new 14,166 sq ft headquarters. This move was marked by a visit from His Royal Highness the Duke of York to Harwell Campus where he released the latest in Space antenna hardware. Year on year growth is set to continue at Harwell with five new schemes in detailed design which will be announced Q4 2018.  With a total of 5.5 million sq ft of planned development and 1.5 million sq ft of that to be developed by 2025, Harwell Campus is set to be the largest rejuvenation and commercial property growth project ever seen in Oxfordshire.

William Cooper, Harwell Campus Partnership Ltd Director said: “Lockheed Martin has been involved with the Campus for years and it’s fantastic news that they will now have a base here. Pierreponts and Fitness Experts will provide the high-quality amenities that we want Harwell Campus people to recognise and expect as part of the Harwell experience.

“Our successful growth comes from being able to respond rapidly to tenant enquiries and to evolve our product offering to meet market demand for flexible alternative space”.

Patrick Wood, Director of International Business Development, Lockheed Martin said: ‘Harwell provides a great opportunity to engage with small, medium and large companies who, like us, are passionate about growing the Space sector to the benefit of the UK economy.”

Tom Edgerley, Development Director, U+I said “Harwell already provides a unique environment where ground breaking business see real benefit from working alongside like-minded organisations. We are committed to building on its success and offering the very best facilities. We know the new amenities will be welcomed by our hardworking community and, we will invest further in Harwell, so the Campus can continue to maximise its potential.”
