In December, VetPartners was ranked in 20th place in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 league table of Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales. VetPartners’ sales have grown 87 per cent over the last three years to reach £349 million in the year to June.
The York-headquartered company is the fastest-growing group of veterinary practices.
Rob Hopkins, director of acquisitions at VetPartners, said: “We’re delighted to welcome two new additions to our UK family of practices.
“The seven partners at Three Counties Equine Hospital will continue, while Elands Veterinary Clinic owner Philip Lhermette, who is well-known within the profession as a past president of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, will remain as clinical director.”
Bristol law firm MS Rubric advised Three Counties Equine Hospital, near Tewkesbury, and also Elands Veterinary Clinic, which has two practices near Sevenoaks in Kent. Both sold to VetPartners.
MS Rubric is the leading veterinary solicitors in the UK, having acted on sales in the sector with a total acquisition value of £500 million.
“The veterinary sector has become dominated by the corporate practices, all of which remain active in their acquisitions,” said James Howell, managing director of MS Rubric.
“This sector has become a key area of specialism for us as a corporate law firm as it has consolidated, and we expect this consolidation to continue.”
