The Music Works has revealed its new facility in Kings Square Gloucester; the perfect space for musicians, producers and podcasters. The Hub has two recording studios, two production suites, practice spaces and a broadcast room all equipped with top-of-the-range music and sound technology. The facilities have been generously sponsored by industry professionals; Warner Chappell, Genelec, Smart Home Sounds, Focusrite & InMusic.
Marcus Jenkins, Studio Hub Manager, said: “Our studios are fitted out with award-winning monitoring from Genelec, providing all musicians, producers, and engineers an incredible high quality listening experience. Acoustically isolated, the various production rooms and live rooms provide a fantastic space for creativity – whether performing an instrument in a live room through a Rupert Neve mic pre or composing in the production rooms using our Native Instruments Komplete suite and controllers, the studios at The Hub are versatile and meet the creative demands of modern musicians.”
The Music Works offer competitive prices for studio hire. The charity is aiming to ensure all young people in Gloucestershire have access to music, so the studio prices are super-affordable and ideal for those who are starting out on their musical journey as well as for those more established who need a space to record, rehearse & produce.
Natalie Oaks, a young artist on The Music Works UPSURGE programme said: “The facilities here are pretty unmatched locally, the amount of funding and support it has had from so many people is amazing.”
Simon Poulton of High Wycombe-based Focusrite, added: “The Music Works is engaging with young people, their creativity and ultimately their wellbeing in increasingly important ways. Focusrite is proud to be able to support their endeavours, as well as giving those young people access to professional-level equipment, giving them the best start on their musical journey”.
The facilities are available for anyone to privately hire, and all studio spaces can be suited to fit the needs of the individual or group booking. Spaces can be booked online, via telephone, email, or in person at the Hub.
The Music Works was founded in 2004 and supports more than 3,000 children and young people each year; engaging them through music, building confidence, self-belief, and motivation, and empowering them to improve their life chances.
