Southeast Asian street food trader Bāo Ma have began fit out works on their brand new stall at the Five Valleys indoor Market.

The new food-to-go stall will be headed up by Ting Mokume, who has successfully ran the award-winning cafe Temple Mama for a number of years in her home town of Cirencester.

Bāo Ma will be bringing tasty steamed buns with a wide variety of fillings, inspired by tastes from across the globe.

Originated in north China, the steamed buns are filled with different fillings – with both meat and vegan options available – then topped with homemade pickles and sauces. Their menu will also include a range of tasty sides and rice bowls.

Opening this spring, Bāo Ma will be located opposite the seating area and next to La Cantina.

Ting said: “Growing up in Singapore, you live and breathe food – on every street corner there would be a food stall selling something tasty.

“The unique combination of various flavours and cooking techniques, created by a melting pot of different cultures, makes Singapore one of the world’s most diverse and exciting culinary landscapes.

“Here at Bao ma we would like to share the exciting taste combinations from my Singapore heritage, distinctive flavours and confident use of spices inspired by family recipes, and memories of incredible dishes from my travels around the world.”
