Snape Contracting acquires Talus Construction

Snape Consulting

Cheltenham-based Snape Contracting has acquired Talus Construction, in a move which strengthens its offering to customers across the public and private sectors, supporting the strategic growth of both brands within their own distinct market sectors.

The long-serving and dedicated team at Talus Construction, whilst working alongside Snape Contracting Director, Tony Cook, will continue to successfully deliver projects across the industrial, commercial and civil sectors, whilst benefitting from the significant infrastructure, scale and growth opportunities that being part of Snape Contracting brings.

While the deal was agreed in November 2020 the roots of the affiliation run much deeper. Nearly 40 years ago, Darryl Hawkins, the now Managing Director of Snape Contracting, worked under the professional guidance of Chris Evans, founder of Talus Construction. This working friendship, which started in the early 1980s, has endured over the years, with both individuals supporting and mentoring each other throughout their respective careers.

Chris Evans, who will remain MD of Talus Construction, said of the acquisition: “It was always my aspiration for Talus to continue well into the future, and way beyond that of my own career. Witnessing the sustained growth of Snape Contracting I knew that this was the opportunity to continue to grow the Talus brand. We are delighted that the strength of our brand, as well as its future potential, has been recognised. We remain committed to continuing the quality delivery of projects our clients have come to expect from us. With the trust and respect I have for Darryl, I believe the future of Talus is in safe hands.”

Darryl Hawkins, MD of Snape Contracting Services, said: “I am pleased to welcome Chris and his team to form a very important part of Snape Contracting. The Talus brand has a bright future, and I’m confident it will enjoy even greater success with the continued support of Snape Contracting. I am particularly pleased to again be working alongside Chris, who was there at the start of my career in the industry and was a very positive influence on how my career has developed.”
