Lifestyle Outlets, part of Peel Land and Property, which owns, develops and operates a number of successful retail destinations and leisure operations across the UK, has signed a deal with British surfwear retailer Saltrock to open a permanent outlet store in Gloucester Quays, following the success of its recent pop-up shop at the waterside location in the centre of the city of Gloucester.
Marie Clarke, Brand Manager at Saltrock said “We’ve been delighted with the response to our pop-up store at Gloucester Quays and have decided to make our presence in Gloucester a permanent fixture.
Gloucester Quays has proved to be the perfect platform for Saltrock, from the impressive footfall figures and events to sitting alongside other big high street brands, we’re really pleased to see the appetite for the brand in the region.
Saltrock has signed a long-term lease taking a 1270 sq ft unit, creating the brand’s second permanent outlet store in the UK.
The new signing follows a string of recent tenant announcements at Gloucester Quays, including Barbour, Hotel Chocolat, Five Guys, Radley London and adidas and will join leading brands in the centre such as Cath Kidston, Jack Wills, All Saints, Joules, Calvin Klein and Ted Baker.
Lifestyle Outlets recently reported a 5.7 per cent year-on-year increase in sales, boosted by a successful Christmas trading period last year.
Rachel Scott, Head of Leasing at Lifestyle Outlets, said: “It’s a pleasure to announce Saltrock is taking a permanent fixture and adding to the line up of brands at Gloucester Quays. Saltrock is a well-loved brand offering products our shoppers love.
Maintaining great brands and announcing new retailers to the centre is testament to the ongoing success we’ve seen at Gloucester Quays, with new openings, increasing footfall and rising sales figures – all in contrast to the current retail landscape we’re reading about in the headlines.”
