Racing back on at Cheltenham for racegoers after town’s Covid Tier 2 confirmation

Following the news that Cheltenham Racecourse is in a Tier 2 area of England, the racecourse is celebrating being able to welcome a limited number of racegoers when racing kicks off again for the International on Friday and Saturday 12 and 13 December.

The racecourse said: “We’re looking forward to opening our doors again and working hard to make sure we provide an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone who joins us on course. Please continue to visit our website and check our social media channels and email newsletters for further ticketing and attendance details.”

According to the government’s website. For those regions in Tier 2, sport, live performances and business meetings can go ahead limited to 50 per cent capacity or 2,000 people outdoors (whichever is lower) and 50 per cent capacity or 1000 people indoors (whichever is lower).
