PSU set to save Poundworld £thousands

Cheltenham-based PSU Technology Group has been delivering a major communications project for Poundworld, which it says will save the retailer more than a third of a million pounds over the course of the contract.

The value retail giant wanted to reduce its telecoms costs and streamlining services, and called on PSU to identify areas where savings could be achieved and services improved.

The telecoms experts audited Poundworld’s existing landline estate, covering the company’s 359 retail stores across the UK.

The audit enabled Poundworld to review its existing services and determine which were still needed and which were no longer required for the company’s future plans.

PSU’s research also identified that the complexity of the existing billing process was creating unnecessary administration.

Lorne Fry, who is responsible for the project at PSU, said: “A saving of £360,000 is an excellent result, and the new billing process will give them greater visibility and control over their costs.”
