Procook Gloucester
The news from the high street may be gloomy for many retailers, but not for Gloucester-headquartered ProCook which has opened a new 2,500 sq ft store at Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet. The kitchen and dining brand has been busy during lockdown upgrading to a much largeunit  at the Quays.

Retail Director Andy Kerr said: We’d completely outgrown our previous unit after 11 years so when the opportunity arose to move into a new larger space we jumped at it.  The new layout allows us to display our tableware and kitchenware ranges fully and gives customers more space to browse comfortably. We’re delighted to be able to open in December allowing shoppers to get stocked up before Christmas.

The news follows ProCook reports a record Black Friday, when then retailer reported its first £500,000 day.

With many retailers shying away from Black Friday promotions, ProCook has embraced the campaign, topping an incredible year with a record day despite most stores being shut due to lockdown

The kitchenware brand, which has just celebrated its 25th Birthday, has experienced strong growth since the beginning of the pandemic, building on its already impressive upward trajectory of the last 10 years. Notably like for like bricks and mortar sales between lockdowns were also up by 41% year on year.

Daniel O’Neill, founder of ProCook, said: “There is scepticism at the moment around Black Friday and some retailers not offering genuine reductions and others deciding not to get involved. We’ve made it simple, 20 per cent off everything if you spend £100 – it’s a clear and simple promotion and consumers know they are saving money.”

He added: “We’ve been busier than ever this year, so we were expecting a great Black Friday performance, but tipping the half a million mark has been particularly sweet and we look forward to seeing our strongest peak sales period to date.”

Procook Gloucester 2On the retailer’s new Gloucester store, Daniel said: Gloucester Quays is very dear to us being in our hometown, so is imperative that we offer local customers the very best experience.  The centre was thriving between lockdowns and our sales figures reflected that, proving that retail is very much alive and kicking.  Nothing beats shopping in person to appreciate quality and finish of a product, so we’re completely committed to maintaining and growing our presence on the high street and in shopping centres.

ProCook has 48 retail stores across the UK.
