Oxford Product Design’s continued expansion leads to new dedicated facility in the heart of Oxford

Oxford Product Design (OPD), has announced that they have moved to a new office at 13 Beaumont Street, Oxford, to better meet the needs of the business as it continues to grow.

OPD a technical product design consultancy based in Oxford was founded at the beginning of 2013. OPD made the decision to move in order to consolidate their offices, which were split over two sites, and bring the company to a more prominent location in the centre of Oxford.

‘Being on Beaumont Street offers an exciting opportunity for OPD to continue to grow. With the extra 1000 square feet we’ve increased the size of our workshop and model making capabilities,’ says Managing Director, Rupert Wilkinson. ‘We believe this space will allow us to delight our customers even more and hope it will attract the very best talent.’

The business has embraced home working since March and will continue to support this alongside the new office environment. ‘As much as remote working has been a success during the past months, we’ve missed the free-flowing collaboration and exchange of ideas that come when we’re actually working together in person,’ says Operations Director, Clare Wilkinson.

‘The new office is a very different environment from our previous open plan layout. It offers more of a ‘campus style’ environment, where the team can choose an area to work in depending on what they want to achieve. These dedicated areas include a project build space, a larger workshop, 3D Printing technologies, creative brainstorming areas, a range of individual spaces for some peace and quiet to work on a problem, and social areas where ideas can be shared.’

As a business we’ve been lucky to continue to experience steady growth through this period, but we don’t take this for granted.
