Standing out from thousands of entries and impressing an expert panel of industry judges, Anne’s inspired hair work secured her the top spot at a virtual awards ceremony earlier this week.
Launched in 2014, the Salon Business Awards is a national competition that sees entries submitted from salons up and down the country. The awards recognise salons that push the boundaries, entwine innovation into tried and tested business models while also inspiring others.
The Authentic Stylist award not only recognises a high level of skill in cutting and colouring but tests the stylists’ talent to create hair looks that are real and ‘authentic’, using no photo editing whatsoever. The judges commented on how Anne’s iconic twisted, elevated braid, demonstrated a skill point few others have.
Anne said, “I am thrilled to have won the Authentic Stylist award. Doing something you love and being recognised for your hard work is so rewarding, but I couldn’t do it without my fantastic salon team and of course my business partner (and husband!), Keith Mellen.
“It’s certainly being a strange year for our business, but this is a huge boost to moral and definitely something to celebrate.”
Salon Business Awards Director Joanne Charlton, said: “Anne Veck has yet again proven herself as an outstanding hairdresser who doesn’t need to rely on trick photography to make hair pop.”
