Oxford-based medical device manufacturer Owen Mumford has been confirmed as the sponsor of the Science and Medicine programme at the 2022 Oxford Literary Festival, which will take place from Friday 25th March to Sunday 3rd April.
The Oxford Literary Festival is the globally-recognised, premium platform for writers and readers to come together in the city of Oxford to debate and examine a plethora of subjects.
Owen Mumford will join as a sponsor of the Science and Medicine programme, which is an extended category for 2022, adding the topical subject of medicine against the unique backdrop of a global pandemic.
The festival is also supported by FT Weekend and the Financial Times, the University of Oxford and BBC World Service radio, distinguished partners who all amplify the creativity of the festival events to the widest possible global audiences.
“The Oxford Literary Festival is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious celebrations of excellence in scholarship, research and teaching,” said Jarl Severn, CEO at Owen Mumford.
“We are very pleased to support the Science and Medicine programme and facilitate discussion and challenge on the views and ideas of esteemed experts in the written word. As innovators in medical device design, the addition of medicine to this category is a compelling reason to join the festival and be part of those dialogues.”
Sally Dunsmore, the Director of the Oxford Literary Festival, warmly welcomed the very generous support of Owen Mumford for the new Science and Medicine Programme for 2022; and the company’s invaluable commitment to sponsor the festival in 2023 and 2024.
“Owen Mumford is a major international medical devices company – part of the extraordinary concentration of world-leading science and medicine research institutions and companies, based around the University of Oxford,” said Dunsmore.
“Owen Mumford’s sponsorship has enabled us to present 20 distinguished speakers at this spring’s festival – discussing a wide range of science and medicine topics. In our 25th year, the festival is delighted to be associated with Owen Mumford in its 70th year of operations.”
