Driving division’s road to success as 1,000 find jobs

More than 1,000 people across Warwickshire have found work as professional drivers thanks to a local recruitment company.

Workforce Staffing is celebrating 18 months of its successful driving division in Rugby with a surge in driver registrations and placements since it launched.

Over 1,000 Class 1 and Class 2 driver positions filled across the area since January 2017.

The success has also meant the recruitment firm looking to double its team of jobs specialists from ten to 20 in the coming months as it expands its own ranks to meet demand.

Workforce Staffing’s Managing Director Joe Alekna said: “To fill such a high number of roles since we launched is a huge milestone for our driving division – and for the local economy.

“I think our success is partly down to our local branches which allow people to pop in and have a face-to-face chat about the right jobs which match their skills.

“Building those personal relationships has been a key factor but to be adding our own jobs in the coming months really is the icing on the cake.”

Joe added: “Quite simply, the professional driving sector is crying out for drivers and there are not enough to meet that demand. Filling so many driving roles across Warwickshire is brilliant for us but people also need to know that there are many other driving jobs out there, including some with hours to fit around their lifestyle.”

Workforce Staffing employs over 100 people between its branches in Birmingham, Solihull, Redditch, Worcester, Kidderminster, Dudley, Coventry and Rugby.

The business was launched in 2003 by Mr Alekna and his brother Paul, who is now the group’s CEO.

It specialises in supplying staff for sectors including logistics, transport, professional services, office, food manufacturing and other manufacturing.
