Letting agent MD strikes gold at national property awards

Angharad Trueman, MD of CGT Lettings in Gloucestershire

Managing Director Angharad Trueman was already a rising star in her business but now she has an award to prove it.

She heads up CGT Lettings, in Gloucestershire, which employs more than 40 people and has in excess of 1,500 managed properties on its books.

Since she became Managing Director in March this year, she has taken the company on a journey to turn it into a modern property business fit for the future.

Her innovation and hard work saw her honoured with the Rising Star 2018 Award at the prestigious Negotiator Awards hosted by comedian Julian Clary.

The category saw hundreds of entries across the country with a shortlist of 19 whittled down to a bronze, silver and gold winner with Angharad coming away with the gold title at the annual event run by the Negotiator Magazine.

“I am so very pleased and grateful to have won this award as it is the culmination of several months hard work turning the great ship of CGT in another direction, it was wonderful to see the name CGT which is a local business up on a national stage and I am really positive to see what we will achieve in the future,” she said.

She added CGT is currently trialling innovative schemes such as Flatfair which does away with the traditional six-week deposit with tenants able to move in with one week’s rent. It is also the first in the county to run the pilot of a new app-based property management software in Cheltenham.

The judges of her entry said: “What a star. If she could ‘bottle’ her ideas and enthusiasm, she could sell it for a fortune. Dedicated and successful, she has made a huge impact on this business in a short space of time and shown great business acumen as well as a finger on the pulse of the local property market, as well as the wider industry. Taking on an MD role of an agency that size is a significant step, but it’s clearly working.”
