Kidderminster-headquartered carpet and flooring design and manufacturing company Victoria PLC, has revealed that 2021 was its eighth consecutive record year, despite the challenges thrown up by Covid.
Record revenues of £662.3 million were achieved, despite revenue declines of up to 80 per cent in the first quarter of last year due to Covid-19 lockdowns.
Geoff Wilding, Executive Chairman of Victoria PLC, said: “I want to pay credit to all Victoria’s management team, who, when it really mattered, delivered an extraordinary outcome for shareholders in a challenging operational environment. The result of their efforts is that the Group is in an enviable operational and financial position to take advantage of opportunities to continue to create wealth for shareholders.”
Victoria has been manufacturing and selling flooring for 125 years. It is a remarkably resilient business, having ultimately prospered through two world wars, three global pandemics, and numerous economic recessions.
Clearly, when the chips are down, the British lay down carpet.
