Gloucester-based investment specialists Blackfinch Investments has boosted its strategic relationship team with the appointment of Mark Brownridge as Strategic Relationship Director.
Mark joins Blackfinch with more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, most recently as Director General of the EIS Association (EISA), the official trade body of the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). Before leading EISA, Mark spent more than a decade at Mazars Financial Planners, where roles included Head of Research and Development.
Mark will focus developing Blackfinch’s relationships with existing and potential new strategic partners, as well as ensuring its tax-efficient and asset management products and services are known and understood by financial advisers. Mark is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Planner, Chartered Wealth Manager, a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and previously sat on the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments Accredited Firms Committee and the Distribution Policy Council of The Investing and Saving Alliance (TISA).
Mark said: “After spending five years leading EISA, I was fortunate to work with the top venture capital fund managers. Blackfinch belong in that bracket, so when they approached me, it didn’t take long to say yes. They ticked a lot of important boxes; a strong Ventures team, ESG (environmental, social and governance) focus, best-in-class adviser relationship network but equally importantly, exciting growth plans.
“I’m especially looking forward to getting back to my roots and working with financial advisers and planners, as well as supporting Reuben Wilcock, Head of Ventures at Blackfinch, and his investment committee to unearth the UK’s next generation of innovative and productive companies.”
Jerry Price, Chief Distribution Officer at Blackfinch, added: “We’re delighted to have Mark join us at this significant period in our growth journey. Mark has championed the role of tax-efficient investing within financial planning for years, and is extremely passionate about promoting the industry and ensuring the private sector keeps driving much-needed funding to smaller companies. “
“Mark’s experience at building strategic relationships, and his authoritative voice within the investment industry will make him an outstanding addition to the team.”
Mark’s appointment follows the key hires of Wayne Readshaw as Executive Business Development Manager and three new additions to the Internal Business Development team.
