Huboo to launch first German fulfilment centre

One of the UK’s fastest growing fulfilment technology providers, Bristol-based Huboo, is opening a 10,000 sq metre German fulfilment centre in Leipzig. This follows on from European launches in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and Madrid, Spain over the past year.

The German eCommerce market is the biggest in Europe, with 99.1bn Euro online sales revenue for the full year 2021, an increase from 83.3bn Euro in 2020.

This new warehouse marks the next step in its international expansion plans.

Germany is a particularly attractive market for online clothing retailers, tech and gadget sellers, and homeware merchants

It will create 250 new jobs to cater for hundreds of eCommerce clients and is its largest territory to date

eCommerce in Germany has long been established as the biggest in Europe, with forecast online sales revenue of 104.8 billion Euros this year,

Huboo’s Co-Founder and CEO Martin Bysh said: “Germany’s retail sector is making a strong post-pandemic recovery and Leipzig, as the gateway to eastern Europe, is a bustling city with good strategic transport links to Berlin and other key areas within the country, meaning that it’s the ideal location for us.”

Huboo kick-started its European expansion with the opening of a new 35,000 sq ft warehouse in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in June 2021 which created 200 jobs. This was closely followed by its launch into Spain, with the opening of a 76,000 sq ft warehouse in Madrid in October 2021, which led to more than 100 new jobs for the region.
