A leading Wiltshire home improvement specialist has announced ambitious expansion plans that include the opening of a bignew showroom in Swindon.
TWC, which has been supporting homeowners for the last thirty years, has unveiled a £250,000 investment in an impressive facility facing the Elgin Drive roundabout in the town.
The former home of the Blade Motor Group will provide the family-run company with the space to create a huge window display, the biggest door showroom in this part of the country (it says) and seven conservatory displays to stir the imagination on home designs.
It comes at the end of a challenging 18 months, which saw the firm adapt to a new way of working and embrace more digitally focused marketing that has contributed to a sales increase of 30 per cent despite the pandemic.
Andy Hill, Managing Director of TWC, said: “The showroom is an exciting part of our growth plans and will give us a fantastic environment to meet potential and existing customers to talk through their ideas.
“Luckily, the right place came up at the right time and it all clicked – the Elgin Drive location is well-known by local people and gives us additional space to be more creative and to showcase our increasing range of doors, windows and living spaces.”
He continued: “We’re particularly pleased to create the area’s first dedicated conservatory showroom and are looking at setting up a continually changing display so that we have seven different examples in there at any one time. Work should be completed in the next few months with a grand opening planned for September.”
When the pandemic started and restrictions were put in place, TWC pivoted to setup a new way of quoting and introducing online viewings and zoom calls for its client base, which also stretches into parts of Oxfordshire.
With people spending more times in their homes, the focus turned to creating new living spaces and this resulted in a surge in enquiries, with the first five weeks of lockdown generating more interest than the previous three months.
Andy added: “We actually secured more sales in 2020 than we did the year before and the next twelve months looks like following a similar theme.
“Maybe it seems a bit mad to invest £250,000 into setting up a new showroom during a pandemic, but it’s about having a strong foundation and cementing our location in Swindon.
“It’s the same reason we kept advertising while others stopped to save money – we wanted to keep our brand out there as a show of strength. Now we want to expand, to keep growing and to create new local jobs.”
