Gymshark opens new 42,000 sq ft HQ & plans to create hundreds of new jobs

Gymshark, a leading fitness apparel brand, has announced the creation of hundreds of new jobs following the launch of GSHQ, its new 42,000 sq ft Solihull-based headquarters.

The facility has the capacity for up to 450 new positions, with Gymshark committed to taking on 150 new employees in the next 12 months.

The opening of GSHQ is a watershed moment for Gymshark, which is on course to hit £100million turnover this year, having served more than 1.2 million customers in 177 countries worldwide and processed over 2.3 million orders to date.

Since its inception in 2012, the company has seen extraordinary growth; from humble beginnings in founder Ben Francis’ parents’ garage in Birmingham, to becoming the fastest growing company in the UK. GSHQ is a strong statement about Gymshark’s future ambitions and reflects how the business is embracing its accelerating global demand, with the aim of opening more than 25 international online stores by 2020, to extend its current 11.

Gymshark’s new headquarters also reflect the brand’s commitment to its current employees, whilst helping to facilitate the attraction and retention of up and coming world-class talent. The new dynamic and collaborative working environment will help to build and maintain Gymshark’s infectious culture that enables each person to perform to the best of their ability. The new office space will offer employees an onsite cinema, yoga studios and treatment rooms – not to mention a giant Gymshark logo that can be seen from Google Earth.

Steve Hewitt, Gymshark’s CEO comments: “GSHQ marks a key moment in the company’s history. Gymshark has and will continue to dedicate itself to creating truly inspirational fitness clothing. Not only will GSHQ create further jobs for the Midlands and UK economies, it also ensures the company remains at the top of its game, delivering high-quality, market-leading products to its global customer base, time and time again.”
