Great West Way has appointed a head of ambassador relationships to focus on expanding its ambassador network.
Steve Fossett will manage and grow the Great West Way Ambassador Network – a partnership of over 250 destinations and tourism suppliers working collaboratively to develop and promote the touring route between London and Bristol.
David Andrews, chief executive at Great West Way said, “Our strong network of ambassadors is a core asset of the route. It enables us to support the travel trade to contract, package and sell the right tourism products and experiences for their programmes along the Great West Way. I’m delighted to welcome Steve to the team and am looking forward to working with him on expanding the network.”
Steve, who joins the team from The Travel Professionals Ltd where he was Business Travel Manager, said “It’s an exciting time to join Great West Way as they seek to grow their Ambassador Network. I’m looking forward to building relationships with existing ambassadors and ensuring they derive maximum value from their commitment, as well as involving more of the innovative and off the beaten track tourism products that we are lucky enough to have along the route.”
The Great West Way is the multi-modal touring route between London and Bristol, spanning some of England’s most iconic heritage destinations and attractions.
The route was established in 2018 with support from the UK Government’s £40 million Discover England Fund, administered by VisitEngland.
The Great West Way Ambassador Network includes over 250 destinations and tourism providers including accommodation providers, attractions, restaurants, retail outlets, tour guides, activity providers and other organisations.
