Good at giftware design? Read on…

Man Tin – David Hicks

The Founder of Greeting card and gift brands ‘Really Good‘ (which was responsible for the ‘Man Tin’) and ‘Soul‘,  has launched a nationwide search for an aspiring giftware designer who could have their work  taken to market globally, valuable exposure and a £1,000 cash prize.

Designer David Hick’s brands, are responsible for producing many best-selling gift products – his Really Good’s ‘Man Tin’ having sold more than 600,000 units globally.

Passionate about supporting and enabling aspiring designers to break into the gift sector, David’s panel of judges is made up of one of America’s biggest distributors, Alan Harnik of Notes & Queries, Jenny Cummins of Australia’s gift and card distributors McMillan, Claire Castle Buyer for WH Smith, Jakki Brown Editor of industry trade publication Progressive Greetings Magazine and Mark Janson-Smith owner of Postmark gift stores.

Unpublished designers aged 18 plus will be invited to enter up to six examples of their work as Jpegs or PDF via email, once the competition is open;

David said: “There’s a large pool of young design talent that I’m looking forward to meeting and nurturing. I still get excited about a new design, so it’s exciting to think about who and what we might unearth.”

The contest is now open, with finalists being announced 5th June at the Progressive Greetings Live 2018 show at the Business Design Centre, and the overall winner judged by the industry panel, announced in July at Harrogate Home & Gift Buyer’s Festival.
