Gloucestershire specialist paper producer Cotek Papers sells to German manufacturer


Cotek Papers Limited, the UK’s leading producer of specialist double sided and differential release paper and release film, has been sold to German manufacturer of silicone coated films and papers, Laufenberg.

Cotek was advised by law firm Lodders.

Based in Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotek produces high quality and innovative solutions in the production of accurate and stable silicone release coatings on all types of paper and film, using the latest generation of solvent free coating machinery.

Its customers include manufacturers of double sided adhesive tapes, hot melt adhesive packaging, butyl mastic sealant and pre-preg composite fibre, together with companies in the medical, graphic art, automotive, personal hygiene and bag closures industries.

The family-run and owned business supplies adhesive tape and packaging manufacturers and companies in the medical, graphic art, automotive, personal hygiene and bag closures industries.

Laufenberg, which is also a family business, intends to keep Cotek as an independent subsidiary into the group of companies and keeps all existing 51 employees. Paul Cattle who has already worked as general manager for Cotek for many years becomes the managing director.

Jörg Soding, managing director of Laufenberg, said: “Great Britain has always been an important market to us. The addition of Cotek with its modern machinery will increase our market position significantly and especially the possibility to coat inert UV-silicones opens up a new innovative product segment.”

Brothers  Adam and Scott Hazell sold the business with advice from the corporate and commercial team at law firm Lodders.
