Workers aged fifty and over and employed within Worcestershire can access free training at local colleges.

Funded by the European Social Fund and launched in autumn 2019, Train 4 Success (T4S) is delivered by Warwickshire College Group (WCG).

Extended into 2020, T4S offers many different courses and is designed to address the untapped potential in older workers (individuals or teams) to aid their professional development and benefit employers.

Eligible individuals must be aged 50 or over and work for business in Worcestershire with no more than 250 employees and a maximum £50m turnover.

Adrian Barradell, Marketing Officer for T4S said, “Retaining and progressing older workers is vital to making the most of the UK’s ageing population.

“Workers aged over 50 already represent one in five of the UK workforce and soon this proportion will rise to one in four, as people continue to live and work longer.”

Free part-time T4S courses include ESOL, bookkeeping, accounting, HR, business management, leadership, engineering, construction, plumbing, electrics, welding, brickwork, IT, CAD/ CNC modelling, safeguarding, counselling, alcohol/ bar personal licensing, floristry, motor maintenance, First-Aid at Work, animal welfare, agriculture and more.

They take place at WCG college locations in Worcestershire and Warwickshire including Evesham College, Pershore College, Malvern Hills College and Leamington Spa College.
