Flexible Minds, based in Bromsgrove, is focused on helping businesses recognise the huge benefits that offering flexible working to employees can bring. These include a more motivated, engaged and responsive workforce, reduced absenteeism, increased productivity, potential cost savings and crucially access to a diverse, previously untapped, pool of talent. Sarah, a qualified Business Psychologist, experienced Recruiter and People Manager, set up Flexible Minds in 2016 as a recruitment agency to directly address the issue many individuals face when looking to progress their careers whilst needing flexibility at work; traditionally a combination that resulted in stalled careers, wasted talent and incredible frustration. However, the business has evolved through the years and whilst still provides an online job board, enabling flexibly minded employers direct access to this skilled talent pool, the business now focuses on other services to help businesses and individuals tackle the barriers to flexible working.
Services for job seekers include CV reviewing and rewriting; when applying for sought after jobs it is crucial to stand out from the crowd at the application stage. Having worked in recruitment as both a recruitment consultant and as an employer Sarah has truly seen the good the bad and the ugly of CVs so has significant insight into what recruiter and employers are looking for when faced with shortlisting tens (sometimes hundreds) of applicants. She works with individuals to help frame their experience in a concise yet impactful way, helping people get one step closer to their next career move.
For businesses, alongside the online job board, Flexible Minds has run an educational and networking session and looks to develop more opportunities in 2020 and beyond for businesses to share good practise, provide answers to the challenges and learn from one another raising the profile and benefits of better work life for all. Individual consultancy and training, either directly with Sarah, or through her network of industry experts can help businesses implement flexible working initiatives or tackle cultural challenges surrounding flexibility.
