Ecclesiastical Insurance has topped the Fairer Finance Spring 2019 Home Insurance table for the ninth time running.
The specialist insurer, which is currently building a new headquarters at Gloucester Business Park, topped the list of 47 insurers including household names such as John Lewis, Nationwide, Hiscox and NFU mutual.
The independent consumer group surveys around 23,000 UK banking and insurance customers twice a year, asking them to rate how satisfied they are with their bank or insurance company in four key areas; happiness, trust, complaints handling and transparency.
Ecclesiastical was also rated the most trusted home insurer, 9% above nearest competitor NFU Mutual. The firm’s overall customer experience rating improved by 5% and, according to Fairer Finance, it continues to have the happiest customers of those surveyed.
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Ecclesiastical Insurance, said: “I am delighted that Ecclesiastical has once again been named as the most trusted home insurer by Fairer Finance, and that we have the happiest customers.
“The fact that this is the ninth consecutive win shows that this is no accident. We are probably the only financial services group in the world with a purely charitable purpose. Our charitable ownership means we can focus on doing the right thing, without conflict between customer and shareholder interests, and this means that we are able to provide insurance that can be believed in.
“We are committed to being the most trusted financial services group in all of our markets, so it is absolutely fantastic to hear that our customers believe they can trust us ahead of 46 other insurers.”
