Creative agency’s takeover of London specialists helped by Thursfields

DRPG buys Firebird

Thursfields Solicitors has helped a creative communications group’s continued expansion by providing crucial advice on its purchase of a specialist London agency.

DRPG, based near Kidderminster, Worcestershire and working all over the world, has bought Firehouse, which has a team of ten staff providing film, video, production and digital solutions to clients such as Kingfisher, B&Q, RBS, O2 and Shell.

Thursfields advised DRPG on the corporate, employment and commercial property elements of the deal which will increase its staff to 340 across the UK, Ireland, Germany and the USA.

Gareth Burge, director in the Corporate team at Thursfields, said: “We were delighted to play a part in the acquisition of Firehouse, an excellent match for DRPG.

“Thursfields has wide experience in the creative and events sector. This latest acquisition adds further diversity to DPRG’s client base and bolsters the group’s position as leaders in the industry.

“We look forward to playing a part in DRPG’s continued success as it continues to expand.”

The Thursfields team saw Mr Burge and solicitor Joe Rollins working on the corporate side of the deal, while senior associate solicitor Jade Linton advised on employment and director Robert Pettigrew dealt with commercial property aspects.

Dale Parmenter, group chief executive of DRPG, said: “This is an exciting time for the group as we start our milestone 40th anniversary year by expanding our capacity and capabilities by acquiring Firehouse.

“They are a well-established, innovative and active agency, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming into our team and working together.”
