Four start-up businesses will be pitching to win some cash this Friday, December 6th, at a Crowdfunding event, Oxfordshire SOUP, in Oxford.
The event is being held at Activate Learning, City of Oxford College, Oxpens Road from 11-1pm/
Oxfordshire Soup aims to help raise small scale investment for new businesses and provide valuable networking opportunities.
The four businesses have been chosen as finalists from around 20 applications to present their case for funding. The winner will win all the ticket money collected and a package of support to help them get established.
Everyone who comes along is invited to be a judge and to vote for their favourite business.
Tina Marshall, the organiser, said: “Anyone can join in and know that the money they paid for their ticket will be helping someone get their business going. Anyone who’s ever set up a business knows how difficult it is at the start. It is a great networking event for small businesses with the added excitement of hearing the businesses pitch and being a ‘Dragon’ by voting for which of them deserves to take the entire pot of ticket money.”
The businesses this week are:
Unuhi is a unique bilingual book app to help young children learn a second language by reading short picture stories.
Storymix is a fiction book production company aiming to nurture more inclusive representation in children’s books and amongst writers.
Happy Zac – is a new subscription delivery business producing healthy snacking for today’s busy parents.
InDependent Spouse is a digital platform to encourage women from military families to take a step into the unknown, use their skills and start their own businesses.
