Burges Salmon has appointed of five new partners, across key growth areas including Banking and Finance, Dispute Resolution and Projects.
These May 2021 partner promotions continue the progress made over recent years by the firm in improving its gender balance in senior leadership roles in line with the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
The appointment of these five new partners, three of whom trained at the firm, brings the firm’s total number of partners to 99 as of 1 May 2021.
Victoria Allsopp specialises in project finance with a particular focus on energy (renewables, including wind, solar, gas and waste) and infrastructure projects.
New partner Emily Scaife has experience working on a wide range of banking and finance issues with a particular emphasis on complex restructuring and insolvency matters in the private and public sectors.
These two promotions take the firm’s Banking and Finance team to eight partners in total, with a 50:50 partner gender balance.
Also from the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, new partner Richard Binns advises private and public sector clients on commercial disputes.
Emily Roberts specialises in intellectual property and advises clients from a wide range of industries on the protection and enforcement of their IP rights.
Chris Chesterman advises public and private sector customers and contractors on complex commercial transactions and projects, with a focus on the defence, space and nuclear sectors.
