Bristol based Leviathan Engineering buys Plymouth company

Leviathan Engineering, based in Bristol, has bought a majority shareholding of GMD Eurotool Ltd (GMD) for an undisclosed sum.

Leviathan plans to  expand the business and GMD is likely to be the first of several acquisitions as it seeks to grow

The engineering company aims to focus on premium value and growth sectors where various engineering services can be shared to address larger, more technical projects.

GMD has a strong reputation for undertaking complex projects and turnkey solutions for customers in the South West, including in highly valued sectors such a marine, defence, food processing, energy and pharmaceuticals.

Law Firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR), led on the acquisition. HCR’s Rachael Reeves, who was assisted by Mark Edwards, said: “Leviathan have been a client for some time, and I’m delighted to be able to support them at the start of an ambitious and well-planned journey towards a new business model for the company.”

Leviathan brings significant additional expertise to manage, improve and grow the business and they plan to further expand the unique services and capabilities of the company Leviathan CEO Glenn Karlsson and CFO David Sneddon are closely supported by two extremely experienced engineering and manufacturing experts Barry Debenham and Kevin Parkin.
