Banbury company launches new social distancing app for major Blenheim event

Salon Prive Liber app

As the events industry does everything it can to make sure it’s Covid-19 safe, Salon Privé, the celebration of luxury motoring, which returns to Blenheim Palace from 23 to 26 September for the 15th year, is adopting a new app developed by Banbury-based events marketing company CI Group.

Salon Privé is determined to meet the government’s robust social-distancing measures and is to be the first automotive event in the world to use Liber, the CI Group’s app specifically developed for major event organisers to ensure everyone who attends is COVID-free before they enter and can be contacted, if required, after the event.

From the 8th September, the Liber app will be available for guests to download to their devices via the usual app stores, and it enables everyone using it, and those around them, to know that they are in a COVID-free space.

Prioritising the safety and wellbeing of all who attend under the theme #ComingTogetherKeepingApart, everyone will be hand sanitised on entry, followed by temperature testing. Linked to the Liber App, a green result sees guests onwards into the event, while a red one sees them to the medical rooms where Team Medic will be on site for further evaluation.

Within the event, Salon Privé has applied more than the government guidelines of 10m2 per person, fogging with Hypochlorous Acid will be conducted four times a day inside all marquees, a team of cleaning professionals will continually clean with HOCl, socially distanced dining will be applied, hand sanitiser available on every single table and exhibitor stand and champagne and fine wines will be brought to guests at their tables to avoid any queueing.

Blenheim Palace, the host venue, also has extensive safety measures in place and is approved under Visit England’s Good To Go accreditation scheme.

The Duke of Marlborough, Salon Privé Patron and owner of Blenheim Place, said: “I’m immensely proud and honoured to be hosting this event in this extraordinary and difficult year. We are protecting our guests to a level far beyond government advice. My family, and David and Andrew Bagley, the event organisers, look forward to welcoming guests and we are all striving to make every visit a day or days to remember.”

Salon Privé Chairman, Andrew Bagley added: “Salon Privé is renowned for attracting the world’s finest motor cars to its Concours d’Elégance by AXA, and this year more than a century of automotive history will be represented on the lawns of Blenheim Palace – from pioneering veterans to modern-day hypercars.

“We are committed to ensuring that everyone can once again enjoy these wonderful cars in luxurious surroundings to the full, while at the same time keeping everyone safe. We’ve arranged the event specially with this as a priority and we’re delighted to have the vital assistance of the Liber app and the support of David Watt and his team at CI Group as our Technology Partner in this.”

David Watt, CEO of the CI Group said: “Live events like Salon Privé have been at the heart of our business for nearly 25 years and we’ve brought together our understanding of events and our extensive digital and data management skills to create Liber specifically for major event organisers to help them meet the new needs of staging events safely and within COVID-19 secure guidelines.

“It’s superb testimony to Liber that Salon Privé, among the most prestigious events in the calendar, has chosen to work with us. This is a terrific example of how, with Liber, fans of all sports and events can soon be enjoying the live experiences that they have been missing.

“We are active supporters of the live events industry’s One Industry, One Voice campaign with its #WeCreateExperiences hashtag and this collaboration between Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace, Ascot Structures and the CI Group shows what the live events industry can and needs to do to inject momentum into the recovery of this valuable sector.”
