A Banbury online roofing merchant has seen exponential growth since March, achieving more than 100 per cent growth in revenue, serving tens of thousands of homeowners and tradespeople nationwide.
Roofing Megastore was founded in 2017 by local entrepreneur Gian-Carlo Grossi, Roofing Megastore now sells more than 40,000 products from top brands such as Marley, Rockwool, and Velux.
Since lockdown, the online retailers has experienced an unprecedented surge in demand from homeowners, as Brits stuck at home looked to indulge in DIY. This has led to rapid expansion within the business, including taking on a further 17 staff. The vast majority of their new starters are from Banbury and have joined the company’s customer care and marketing teams.
Gian-Carlo Grossi, Managing Director, said: “The situation since March has been truly unprecedented, and we needed to react and adapt quickly to serve our new customers. We’re thrilled to have been able to meet this demand, and proud to have become a growing employer in Banbury during these uncertain times.”
He continued: “Our success during this time has highlighted the importance of continued innovation, particularly as consumer demand moves online and away from big-box retailers. We’ve always strived to simplify the process of buying building supplies, making them more accessible to homeowners who want to undertake a DIY project but find the prospect daunting.”
The company is looking to build upon its successes and has ambitious plans for the future, where it will continue to grow and become a more prominent business and employer for the Banbury area. As more consumers continue to shop exclusively online, the brand believes it is in a unique position to drive further innovation in a sector that has been largely unchanged in recent years.
Last month more than 130,000 people visited Roofing Megastore, viewing nearly two million pages looking for roofing and DIY supplies, as well as advice and inspiration for their projects; which can include everything from re-roofing a shed or garage to a full house roof replacement.
