West Midlands 5G (WM5G), and 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (ACIA) are hosting one of the first large scale industrial 5G workshop in the West Midlands this Wednesday 22nd January 2020, at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
The fourth stage of the industrial revolution, also known as smart manufacturing, heralds an entirely new era. Its goal is to significantly improve the flexibility, versatility, usability and efficiency of production systems and to make the vision of smart factories come true – wireless connection – 5G in particular – will play a pivotal role in this revolution.
More than 150 communication service providers, ICT solution providers, academics, government and regulators are expected to attend. The workshops and talks will explore how best to prepare for disruptive 5G developments and the far-reaching benefits 5G deployment will bring to the wider UK business sector. Experts in their field will share their experience and answer questions such as “Why and what is 5G and how do we get involved?”
Igor Leprince, Chair of WM5G, is one of the key note speakers and will be delivering a presentation on the ‘Acceleration of 5G in the West Midlands’; the site of the UK’s first 5G testbed.
You are invited to join the demonstrations and talks. Photographers are welcome. Spokespeople from West Midlands 5G and Ericsson will be available for exclusive interviews.
